VV: Ultimatum Update History - Every Patch Dated & Explained
VV: Ultimatum moves fast - the game went from paid early access to a full free launch, two major updates, a mini-update and a run of QoL patches in under two months. This hub tracks every release with its date and what actually shipped, so you can tell real patch content apart from leak videos and roadmap speculation.
Sources per entry: the Pro Game Guides launch article, Sportskeeda's Update 1 preview, GGWTB's and MrGuider's Update 2 coverage and Destructoid's codes coverage, now cross-checked against video documentation, July 2026 - 40+ creator transcripts spanning every patch window, including several creators reading the official changelogs aloud on camera. Official patch notes are posted in the game's Discord (discord.gg/vvgame) rather than a public Trello, so third-party writeups and dated videos are the archived record. Where written coverage and video documentation disagree, the conflict is attributed inline; anything unconfirmed is labeled.
Early Access - May 6, 2026
VV: Ultimatum opened as a paid early access experience on Roblox on May 6, 2026 (per Destructoid's codes coverage). The early build established the core of the game: a Bleach-inspired action RPG where you pick one of three factions - Shinigami (Soul Reapers), Quincy or Hollow/Arrancar - and level through skill-based combat with parries, dodges and posture pressure. The early access gamepass requirement was removed at full launch; you no longer need it to play.
Creator coverage adds that a closed tester phase ran before release - developers gave content creators tester slots to distribute, and testers reportedly logged 80+ hours per slot on PvE content alone (video documentation, July 2026).
Full Release - June 5, 2026
The free public launch landed on Friday, June 5, 2026, after nearly two years of development (per the Pro Game Guides launch article and the second official trailer). The game had originally targeted May, but lead developer Tvvrtle explained on Discord that new Roblox publishing requirements taking effect May 19 forced a short slip into the first week of June.
The launch build shipped with over 130 skills and abilities, the three-faction structure, and each faction's first release form as the power ceiling: Shikai for Shinigami, Schrift with Letzt Stil for Quincy, and Resurreccion for Hollows. Launch day saw several server shutdowns under load. A daily login reward track was live from launch (ability tokens, reward boxes, whetstone, token booster). Launch-window codes: DAY1, SBFIX (shutdown-fix compensation), FULLRELEASE and 75KLIKES - see the code lifecycle section below.
The Act 1 roadmap drop - around June 16, 2026
About a week before Update 1, developer Artemis posted the five-chapter 'Act 1' roadmap in the game's main Discord, as relayed by creators who screenshotted the post. Chapter 1 mapped to Update 1's new abilities and Chapter 2 to Update 2's game modes; Chapters 3-5 (Bankai/Segunda/Vollstandig, race evolutions, and a mystery chapter) remain unreleased. Full chapter-by-chapter breakdown: /wikis/vv-ultimatum/guides/act-1-roadmap/.
Update 1 - June 20, 2026
The first major patch. Sportskeeda's preview framed it around organizations and early-game pacing; creator coverage centers on the three new abilities - 'the elements update'. It shipped with the UPDATE1 code (typed in full); 140KLIKES was also active in this window.
- Praying Mantis - new Arrancar Resurreccion with four arms: Hunting Dash (recastable dash-slash), Holy Wailing (multi-hit bleed that can crumple) and Foresight, plus the Perception passive granting a 360-degree parry/block radius while in mode; level 8 in its Damage tree lets the final Hunting Dash recast be used in base form for ~100 damage (video documentation, July 2026)
- The Iron - new Quincy Schrift: an iron arm/gauntlet buff that empowers M1s and stacks with Blut for damage reduction plus damage; its short buff uptime is the documented weakness, and the gauntlet doubles as an equippable weapon with a lunge crit
- Demon's Light - new 9%-rarity Soul Reaper Shikai (Ikkaku-inspired) with three weapon forms swapped via Split Apart: spear (Three Piece Assault), dagger (auto-tracking Double Bullseye) and flail/nunchuck (Demon's Call), plus execute, bleed and rushdown upgrade passives
- Six ability variants across the three new elements, per creator coverage (earlier written coverage attributed 'six variants' to The Iron alone - the video read attributes them across all three)
- Organization bases - customizable bases bought through the organization upgrade menu, with purchasable props and decorations, color/material customization, base naming and teleport-list integration (per community patch archives; note this conflicts with creator roadmap coverage, which treats 'base building' as unshipped as of Update 2 - conflict pending in-game verification)
- Organization creation level requirement cut from 35 to 20; rank management now available by default
- Two new raid-exclusive skill essences obtainable from raid rewards
- New emotes (Day Three, Bye Bye) plus new Goryutenmetsu dragon, shark and water puddle models and Malevolence spawn effects
- Combat pass: improved M1 hitboxes, slightly longer dash i-frames, and NPC unblockable attacks recolored to orange (orange = unblockable, undodgeable, uncounterable)
- Progression: faster early-game leveling, reduced enemy/boss stats, later Dragonfly spawns and easier-to-avoid grab timing
- Balance: Compound Rush reportedly received around five separate nerfs (secondhand creator report). Known issues: Skyscraper's hitbox failed while the Demon's Light spear form was equipped, and human world servers remained unoptimized and laggy
Mini-update - Ascension and new clans (late June 2026)
Between Updates 1 and 2 a mini-update shipped the game's prestige system and three clans (video documentation, July 2026). Its code was MINIUPDATE - 10 clan rerolls, 3 ability rerolls, 3 Hogyoku shards and a build reset token; a second rerolls code from this window, heard in captions as 'few rerolls' (likely FEWREROLLS - spelling unverified), later expired.
- Ascension system - at level 100 your spirit navigator directs you to the Golem/Gelum statue at Fort Adams; ascending grants permanent, account-wide buffs with no progress loss. Ascension 1: +1.5% monster damage, +12.5% XP gain, equipment load, reroll bundles, a character token and the Invader's Chime (infinite-use invasion item). Full details: /wikis/vv-ultimatum/guides/ascension-guide/
- Three new clans: Kurotsuchi/Myriad (Soul Reaper - halves spirit-charm overflow HP cost, called possibly the strongest clan passive in the game by creators), an Arrancar stat-stick clan (+2.5 weapon damage, +5 HP, +1 melee defense, bone-mask cosmetic; clan name garbled in captions - pending verification), and Lloyd (rare Quincy - all Sensory passives free, +5 posture, +0.1 max AP)
- Invasion Bell item added (broken at launch per creator testing), plus new accessories, animation changes, a new move, and new Gauntlet rewards/UI
- Around this window build reset tokens became obtainable in-game (previously Robux-only), though creators report they remain very hard to get
QoL and buff patches - the week before Update 2
A run of smaller patches landed in the final days before Update 2 (video documentation, July 2026). Codes from this window: 35REROLLS (35 ability rerolls) and 160KLIKES.
- Gauntlet completion rewards 'giga buffed' - multi-reroll bundles instead of single items, though each boss reward stays one-time. The unlock quest documented in the same window: a hidden NPC at Fort Adams, a Dark Spirit Alloy craft (4x Dark Essence + 1 Great Soul Essence + 1 Spirit Alloy), then re-fight beaten bosses - Lord Nivis, the masked warrior (heard as both 'Genichiro' and 'Junichiro' in captions; name pending verification), Grey Hunter and the Parasite - for titles like Beast Slayer and permanent stat perks
- Demon's Light nunchucks buffed: damage 13.9 to 14.6, posture damage 13.9 to 14.4, roughly 10% faster swings
- Hogyoku shard drops increased and the respawn timer lowered
- Elo gains rebalanced: high-Elo players now earn little or no Elo from much weaker kills, while low-Elo players earn more from strong kills; an overworld Elo reset also occurred at some point pre-Update 2 (timing unclear)
- New raid-droppable equipment set added
- Shadow nerf: energy cells now sell for 150 tokens, down from roughly 300-400
- Also documented in this window: a secret one-hand sword stance quest - hidden NPC in a cave near Mizuki Village, 300 Soul Tokens, then parry-execute two opposite-faction enemies
Update 2 - July 4, 2026
The 'Chapter 2' update released overnight after delays, around July 4, 2026 (per MrGuider, GGWTB and multiple creators who date it to Independence Day). Headliners: casual 1v1 matchmaking, the Blooming Madness Shikai, Ascension 2 and the AFK World. Six independent creators read the in-game changelog on camera - that is the basis for the list below (video documentation, July 2026).
Code correction: the launch code is UPD2 - 'update' in short spelling, NOT 'UPDATE2'. Creators show it on screen redeeming for a build reset token and 20 Ability Rerolls, and it was the only new code at launch. Earlier written coverage (GGWTB) listed the code as UPDATE2; the on-screen video evidence supports the short spelling. Redemption requires joining the Roblox group, and the Codes tab only appears after the tutorial.
- Matchmaking - casual 1v1 queues only at launch, with region select, the pre-existing arena as lobby, a 5-second countdown, victory/defeat voice lines and a rematch button (no re-queue). No Elo is awarded and there is no level gating; winning pays two chests of generic loot (Hogyoku fragments/shards, accessory tokens, and clan tokens from the rarer pink chest). The changelog itself says the system is unfinished: 'more to come soon'
- Blooming Madness - Shunsui Kyoraku's Shikai for Soul Reapers, a 1% legendary with no variants. Kit: Shadow Game (step on the opponent's shadow to trigger a slash barrage; grants Shadow Slash and Shadow Fall) and Mountain Game (a timed 'whoever is higher wins' duel; grants the Takaoni downslam and Flash Flip), plus the Irony ultimate charged by dealing damage. Upgrade tree: Damage (game losses can execute at level 7), Reiatsu Efficiency (crit becomes Bushogoma at 10), Showboating (longer game duration at 3, faster Irony charge at 7). Move spellings are caption-transcribed - verify in-game
- Dual swords - new weapon type for Shikai, a 3% roll for any Shikai user; auto-equipped and locked if you roll Blooming Madness
- Two new Sensory skills - the changelog wording as read aloud by creators; some earlier coverage renders the name 'Sincerity' (caption ambiguity - exact in-game name pending verification)
- Ascension 2 - max Ascension raised from 1 to 2 (roughly +22.5% total XP plus monster damage, equipment load and token rewards), with your current Ascension level now viewable in the menu. It unlocks the Crocodile prestige hollow; Scorpion is likewise an Ascension reward. The 'Marshland Crocodile' is the sixth and largest starting hollow type, and a manual evolution toggle was added under Settings > Miscellaneous
- Overworld Elo now visible in the Feats tab, with exact per-kill Elo gains and losses shown (~80 Elo is leaderboard tier, per creator anecdote)
- AFK World - idle zone paying out roughly every 9-10 minutes into a dedicated AFK shop (launch prices: build reset 500, clan token 12, character token 1,400; ability tokens, experimental Hogyoku and 'The Observer' title also stocked)
- QoL: rare drop rates buffed on Hueco Mundo Extreme- and Squad-class chests, click-to-skip NPC dialogue, new settings for block buffer, hold-M1, ability cooldown indicators and hyper-armor indicators, reduced Resurreccion VFX clutter, more server names, and remade hollow trade visuals
Update 2 - balance pass and reception
The balance pass, read from the changelog by multiple creators (skill names are caption-transcribed):
- Strength tree nerfed across the board: Skyscraper, Impale, Crescent Slam and Falcon Stance nerfed; Fell Crescent damage slightly down with cost slightly up; Brute Force slightly buffed
- Soul Reaper Kido nerfed (multiple tree entries; Cero's self-HP cost was reduced), Arrancar Kido nerfed, Quincy Kido buffed because almost nobody used it
- All Hakuda style M1 ranges nerfed - boxing now has slightly lower range than base fists; true combos off slash-ragdolls deal further reduced damage
- Build reset tokens' Robux price lowered - still criticized as scarce; resets refund true Hogyoku and skill essences but NOT Ascension Fragments, and refunded items become untradeable
- Reception (creator opinion, aggregated across six videos): negative-to-mixed - 'nothing burger', 'letdown', 'less than 4 hours of content', with Aku the most positive. Several creators believe organization wars were cut from the update. Concurrent players sat around 13.8k at launch, down from peak
- Day-one bugs: a black-and-white matchmaking arena for some players, and queues that could dead-lock entirely
Codes - the full lifecycle (12 documented codes)
Twelve codes are documented across the game's first two months (video documentation, July 2026). Redemption always requires joining the Roblox group, and the Codes box appears in Shop > Codes only after completing the tutorial. Spellings are transcribed from creator videos: UPD2 and UPDATE1 are confirmed on screen; treat the rest - especially FEWREROLLS - as 'as heard'.
- DAY1 (release) - 3 clan rerolls, 1 token booster, 1 focus elixir; working at release
- SBFIX (release; shutdown-fix compensation) - weapon rerolls; later expired
- FULLRELEASE (release) - 10 clan rerolls and more; working June 2026
- 75KLIKES (release window) - rerolls; working June 2026
- 100KLIKES (pre-Update 1) - rerolls; expired by later June checks
- 140KLIKES (Update 1 window) - rerolls; later expired
- UPDATE1 (Update 1; typed in full) - rerolls; shown redeeming at Update 1
- MINIUPDATE (mini-update) - 10 clan rerolls, 3 ability rerolls, 3 Hogyoku shards, build reset token
- FEWREROLLS? (mini-update; caption-garbled name heard as 'few rerolls'/'fury rolls') - clan + ability rerolls; later expired
- 35REROLLS (QoL patch window) - 35 ability rerolls; working pre-Update 2
- 160KLIKES (pre-Update 2) - rerolls; working pre-Update 2
- UPD2 (Update 2; short spelling, NOT UPDATE2) - build reset token + 20 ability rerolls; the only code released at Update 2 launch
Update 2.5 - announced, no date
Update 2.5 is listed as the next update in community patch archives, but as of July 10, 2026 there are no published patch notes and no official release date - treat any dated claim as speculation. Documented hints point at faction ability waves: new Quincy abilities, new Soul Reaper abilities in the next major patch, and an ongoing community vote on which Arrancar abilities come next. Watch the official Discord for the announcement; the team has warned that only the official Midnight Continent Roblox group and Discord are legitimate sources, and that anyone selling 'test access' is a scam.
Creator expectations (labeled opinion, video documentation July 2026): a '.5' patch adding the real game modes the roadmap teased; the Visionary element next - a dev Discord poll on Visionary ran about 4 days before Update 2; 2v2/3v3/5v5 queues, since the matchmaking menu says 'more to come'; and Bankai as Update 3, matching roadmap Chapter 3 (/wikis/vv-ultimatum/guides/act-1-roadmap/). Recurring community asks: Elo or real rewards in matchmaking, un-gating raid access (~2 raids/hour now), boss instancing for Calamitas/Nivis-style spawns, reverting the Hogyoku-fragment event from 40 medals back to 30, and Ascension Fragment refunds on build resets.
