Missions

verified 2026-07-17 · VV: Ultimatum systems & progression

Missions are repeatable objective runs in VV: Ultimatum that can roll random modifiers - such as "take no damage" or "don't use skills" - and carry invader spawns that community reports say stay active even after the mission objective is completed.

Missions are one of VV: Ultimatum's repeatable content loops: you take an objective, clear it, and collect the reward. What sets them apart is the modifier system - missions can roll random extra conditions on top of the base objective, with community-documented examples including "take no damage" and "don't use skills" (283-star starboard post, June 2026).

Missions are also a PvP surface: mission invasions are one of the game's PvP-enabled realms, and community reports note that invader spawns (and the rolled modifiers) remain active even after the mission objective is completed - staying live until you actually leave, which regularly catches players who linger after finishing.

This page is community-documented and pending verification; the full modifier list is not yet documented.

Details

Content typeRepeatable objective runs
Modifiers (community-documented)Random extra conditions, e.g. "take no damage", "don't use skills"
InvadersMission invasions are PvP-enabled; spawns reportedly stay active after the objective is completed
StatusCommunity-documented, pending verification
Mission ticket cap5 tickets held at once - spend down to 2-3 before running new content to avoid capping and wasting future ticket rewards
Extract-EXP mechanicMissions fill a segmented EXP bar by kills; you can extract (bank) anytime by returning to the extraction portal - but extracting BELOW the minimum EXP threshold makes you LOSE XP instead of gaining it
Bonus mini-objectivesBottom-left of the mission UI shows optional bonuses (finish under time limit, no allies knocked out, take no damage) for extra EXP beyond the base clear reward
Dangerous Tasks togglePre-mission opt-in: OFF (default) = no invasions. ON = other players can invade your mission and you can invade theirs (also requires a crafted invasion item to invade others)
Rank ladder gateSeparate from character level - unranked → student → higher tiers via promotion tasks (e.g. kill 4 hollows). Higher mission classes gated behind higher ranks
Lieutenant mission cooldown~5 minute cooldown between mission requests (early-access data)
Trained enemies modifierDangerous missions can roll a Trained Enemies modifier - NPCs become strangely intelligent, dramatically higher parry chance against player attacks
Lieutenant mission interceptionStar-rated Lieutenant missions can be intercepted by other players (comparable to Devil Hunter-style PvP overlay on PvE)

Mission modifiers (community-documented)

Missions can roll random modifiers that constrain how you complete the objective. The two community-documented examples (283-star post, June 2026) are "take no damage" and "don't use skills". The full modifier pool has not been documented yet - treat these as a sample, not a list.

Invader spawns outlast the objective

Community reports note that completing the mission objective does not shut the mission down: invader spawns and the rolled modifiers stay active until you leave. If you finish the objective and stay to loot or idle, you can still be invaded - and a "take no damage" modifier can still be failed. Pending verification.

Missions in progression

Missions also feed other systems: video documentation on the Arrancars & Hollows page records that mission NPCs count as kills for Vasto Lorde progress, making low-class missions the fast route through "Primal Urges Part 2".

Ticket economy & EXP extraction

Mission tickets cap at 5 held simultaneously. When you hit the cap, incoming ticket rewards from quests/kills are wasted - so most players spend down to 2-3 before capping.

Inside a mission, your kills fill a segmented EXP bar. You can return to the extraction portal at any point to bank what you have. Critical rule: if you extract BEFORE hitting the minimum EXP threshold for the mission, you LOSE XP instead of gaining it - the game punishes early extract on failed clears.

Optional mini-objectives displayed in the bottom-left (time limit, no allies KO, no damage taken) grant bonus EXP on top of the base clear reward.

Invasion opt-in (Dangerous Tasks)

After your first mission the game asks whether to enable Dangerous Tasks - a persistent toggle that governs invasions.

OFF (default): no player can invade your mission. Safe for solo PvE runs.

ON: other players can invade your mission, but you also gain the ability to invade theirs. Invading someone else additionally requires a crafted invasion item, so ON is opt-in on both directions.

Faction rank ladder

Separate from character level, each faction runs its own rank ladder (starts unranked). You promote by completing promotion tasks - example: kill 4 hollows to move from unranked to student.

Higher mission classes are gated behind rank tier, not just level. Even a level 60 character stuck at unranked cannot access higher-rank missions.

FAQ

What modifiers can missions have?

Community-documented examples (June 2026): "take no damage" and "don't use skills". The full modifier list is not yet documented; pending verification.

Do invaders stop spawning once the mission objective is done?

No - community reports say invader spawns (and the mission modifiers) stay active after completion until you leave the mission.

Are missions worth farming for Hollow evolution?

Yes - mission NPCs count as kills for Vasto Lorde progress (video-documented), so low-class missions are the community's recommended fast route.

How many mission tickets can I hold?

5 at once. Spend down to 2-3 before capping so incoming ticket rewards from quests/kills are not wasted.

What happens if I extract from a mission early?

If you extract BELOW the minimum EXP threshold for that mission, you LOSE XP instead of gaining it. Extract only after crossing the threshold or you punish yourself.

Can other players invade my mission?

Only if you toggled Dangerous Tasks ON (default is OFF, safe). Invading someone else also requires a crafted invasion item, so the system is opt-in both ways.
