Calamitas
Calamitas is a primordial hollow from the old world, resurrected by a group of cultists and carrying sinister implications for Hueco Mundo. Unlike scheduled world bosses, Calamitas does not spawn on a timer: it is summoned at the ritual site in Hueco Mundo by using Ritual Oil, with a cooldown of roughly 5 minutes between summons - short enough to chain-farm kills if you pre-craft multiple oils. Per Builderboy TV, summoning raises a large barrier around the summoner: nobody can enter or leave until the fight ends, making every summon an effective solo instance. 'Defeat Calamitas' also appears as a main story quest in Hueco Mundo, so the boss is story-required rather than purely optional.
The Ritual Oil schematic is unlocked through a quest chain that starts with a lady and child NPC near Enrique's Sanctum (heard as 'Inriki Sanctum' in video captions), continues through a man in the Soul Society Outskirts and ends at the ritual site. The oil is then crafted at any crafting station from roughly 2x Monster Iris (dropped by Licker-type hollows) and 1x Wendigo Skull - exact counts pending in-game verification.
Nearly its entire kit hits for extremely high posture damage, making it a war of attrition against your guard. Lashes of Chaos and Meteor Strike (a yellow-kanji attack) both knock back and stagger the boss when parried - the core punish loop of the fight. Incineration and Ashes of Calamity are the killers, pairing extremely high posture damage with extremely high damage; their parry interactions are marked unconfirmed in community documentation. Tail Slam, Feast, Wing Slam and Wings of Abaddon round out the kit with low-to-medium damage but relentless posture pressure.
Video guides from DDrewSS and Builderboy TV document the practical patterns behind those names: a fireball-circle opener, a 3-hit head slam with a delayed 4th hit whose parry staggers the boss for free damage, a lethal line-of-fire charge with a hidden pre-fire flame patch, a wing flap worth roughly a full HP bar, a sweeping fire beam during which the boss takes reduced damage, and situational tail slam, wing slam and bite attacks. Per DDrewSS, Calamitas never uses the same move twice in a row, which makes the fight highly readable.
At 3 bars remaining (20% HP) Calamitas enters its second phase, 'Crown of Thunder, Throne of Ash'. Community documentation names four phase-two moves - the new Magmafall plus reworked versions of its phase-one kit as Lashes of Cinder, Plume of Death and Magma Shots - while DDrewSS's footage shows the phase keeping the same fundamental patterns but faster, with molten lava spawning around its fireball attack (likely Magmafall itself) plus an additional new parryable triple-fireball volley used only from range; both accounts are presented in the phase section below.
Its drops are documented from both community and video sources: the direct drop pool holds the Ashen Pendant, the Flame-Refined Talon material and the Song of Fire and Thunder charm, and a kill spawns 12 Hueco Mundo Chests - the pile that video sources describe containing Tier 3 charms, the Savior's Cape, build-reset materials and more, widely called the best drop farm in the game.

Summoning: quest chain, Ritual Oil and the barrier
The Ritual Oil schematic comes from a quest chain shown by Builderboy TV: it starts with a lady and child NPC near Enrique's Sanctum ('Inriki Sanctum' in auto-captions), sends you to a man in the Soul Society Outskirts, and ends when you meet her at the ritual site. Once unlocked, Ritual Oil is crafted at any crafting station; the stated materials are roughly 2x Monster Iris (from Licker-type hollows) and 1x Wendigo Skull, with exact counts pending in-game verification.
Pour the oil at the ritual site in Hueco Mundo to summon the boss. Summoning creates a large barrier around the summoner - nobody can enter or leave until the fight ends, so the encounter plays as a solo instance. The summon cooldown of roughly 5 minutes is short enough to chain kills back to back if you bring multiple oils. 'Defeat Calamitas' is also a main story quest in Hueco Mundo.
Attacks (community-documented kit)
Lashes of Chaos: blockable, parryable, dodgeable; knocks back, extremely high posture damage, medium damage, staggers the boss when parried. Meteor Strike: yellow kanji, blockable and parryable (dodge unconfirmed), knocks back, extremely high posture damage, medium damage, staggers the boss when parried. Incineration and Ashes of Calamity: blockable with extremely high posture damage and extremely high damage; parry interactions unconfirmed.
Tail Slam, Feast and Wing Slam: blockable, parryable and dodgeable, dealing low damage with heavy posture pressure (Tail Slam and Wing Slam at extremely high posture damage, Feast at medium). Wings of Abaddon: blockable, extremely high posture damage, low damage.
Attack patterns from video guides (DDrewSS, Builderboy TV)
Opener: Calamitas rains meteors/fireballs on whoever is closest; the fireballs circle around your character, so staying near the middle of the circle and holding block avoids most of the damage. Head slam combo: 3 slams plus a delayed 4th - parrying the delayed final hit staggers the boss for free hits, the core punish loop in practice. If its posture is not broken, it follows with a roar (minor threat).
Line of fire: the boss rises, flies backwards, charges, then flies straight at the player in a line of flames that can kill outright - dodge sideways only after it starts moving, and beware a small pre-fire flame patch that spawns before the actual line and can clip players. Wing flap: rises and flaps its wings for roughly a full HP bar and high posture damage if blocked. Fire beam: sweeps right to left while the boss takes reduced damage; it quickly turns to track players who move behind it, so running away for the duration is safest.
Situational moves: tail slam (used only against players behind it - it prioritizes targets behind it), wing slam and bite (both only when head slam is on cooldown; bite is very rare). Per DDrewSS, Calamitas never uses the same move twice in a row, so an immediate repeat can always be ruled out.
Second phase: Crown of Thunder, Throne of Ash
At 3 bars (20% HP), Calamitas rises into the sky and forms a desert storm as it unleashes its full power; its battle theme changes with it. The two documentation sources describe the phase differently and both are given here without averaging.
Per community documentation: the boss gains one new move, Magmafall - yellow kanji, blockable, parryable (dodge unconfirmed), knocks back, extremely high posture damage, medium damage, staggers the boss when parried - and most of its phase-one moves take on altered forms.
The reworked phase-two moves are also named. Lashes of Cinder: blockable, parryable and dodgeable, knocks back, extremely high posture damage, medium damage, staggers the boss when parried. Plume of Death: blockable (parry unconfirmed), extremely high posture damage and extremely high damage. Magma Shots: blockable and parryable (dodge unconfirmed), extremely high posture damage, low damage.
Per DDrewSS's video: phase 2 keeps the same fundamental patterns but faster; molten lava spawns around its fireball attack (most likely Magmafall by another name), and the boss gains an additional new move - a triple fireball volley used only from range, which can be parried. The head slam variant also changes: still 3 hits, but the 4th becomes a quick fly-up-and-crash - parry it to stun the boss, or it follows up with a roar that ragdolls your character.
Drops
Community documentation lists three direct drops - the Ashen Pendant misc equipment, the Flame-Refined Talon material and the Song of Fire and Thunder charm - plus 12 Hueco Mundo Chests per kill.
Per Builderboy TV (corroborated by JustKenshi), that chest pile makes Calamitas widely called the best drop farm in the game. Documented contents include Tier 3 charms, the Savior's Cape (described as the best meta accessory), and build-reset-token materials. Loot observed on camera in a single run included a Hogyoku Shard, an Ascension fragment and an accessory token.
Note on the Savior's Cape: Pot Guy sources it from extreme mission tickets, while Builderboy TV and JustKenshi source it from the Calamitas chest pile - treat it as available from both routes pending verification. Drop rates are unconfirmed.
Community notes (Discord)
Community caveat (starboard, 314 stars): the summon barrier locks out only players who were outside when the boss was summoned - anyone already standing inside stays in, so on busy public servers the fight is not guaranteed to be solo and the arena is often swarmed. Pending verification.
Sourcing conflict, both versions recorded: Builderboy TV's footage describes the summon barrier as an effective solo instance, but community starboard posts (310, 314 and 158 stars) report Calamitas is not instanced in practice - players already inside the arena join the fight, public-server arenas are swarmed, and one 310-star post reports the main-story questline bugging out because the boss is not instanced. Pending verification.
