Stun
EffectStun is one of four Hard Crowd-Control effects in Anime Expeditions, alongside Freeze, Rewind and Shadow Rewind. By default it locks an enemy out of all actions and movement for 2 seconds, on a 5 second cooldown per applier.
Two units apply Stun: Shadow (Divine) and Shadow, plus String Demon (Awakened) and String Demon. Because Hard Crowd-Control effects share a cooldown bracket with each other, stacking multiple Stun sources on the same team has diminishing returns against a single target.
Details
How Stun works
Stun prevents all actions and movement for 2 seconds by default, fully halting an enemy's advance along the path. It runs on a 5 second cooldown per applier, meaning a single unit with Stun in its kit can only reapply it to the same target once that cooldown expires.
Stun falls under the Hard Crowd-Control subtype, which as a category applies stricter, more impactful effects than Soft Crowd-Control tools like Slow or Stagger, but on a longer cooldown bracket shared with the other Hard Crowd-Control effects.
Units that apply Stun
Stun is applied by Shadow (Divine), Shadow, String Demon (Awakened) and String Demon. Each unit's kit can set its own duration and cooldown for Stun that may differ from the defaults, so check the applying unit's own page for exact numbers.
Stun vs other Hard Crowd-Control effects
Stun shares its Hard Crowd-Control category with Freeze, Rewind and Shadow Rewind, all of which interrupt enemy movement in different ways. Stun and Freeze both flag as full stuns that halt actions outright, while Rewind and Shadow Rewind instead push or teleport enemies backward along the path rather than freezing them in place.
