Burn
EffectBurn is a Damage-over-Time effect that, by default, deals 0.5x of the applying unit's damage across 4 ticks over 4 seconds. Like the other Damage-over-Time effects in Anime Expeditions, each unit that applies Burn can override those default numbers with its own values.
Only two units document Burn as of the Release Update: Flame Emperor (Reincarnate) and Flame Emperor, plus the Epic-rarity Demon Cyborg. That makes Burn a comparatively rare tool on the current roster next to more widely applied effects like Bleed or Slow.
Details
How Burn works
Burn deals damage in ticks equal to a factor of the applying unit's current damage stat. At default values, that is x0.5 total damage split across 4 ticks over 4 seconds, roughly one tick per second.
As with all Damage-over-Time effects, Burn from the same applier does not stack on itself, but separate appliers hitting the same enemy with Burn stack independently, each tracking its own duration and remaining ticks.
Units that apply Burn
Burn is applied by Flame Emperor (Reincarnate), Flame Emperor and Demon Cyborg. Each of these units can define its own Factor, Duration and Tick count for Burn, which may differ from the defaults listed above, so check the applying unit's own page for its exact numbers.
Burn vs other Damage-over-Time effects
Burn's default 0.5x factor over 4 ticks is lower than Bleed's 0.65x over 6 ticks, but it also resolves faster, which matters on shorter stages where a longer-duration effect might not finish ticking before the enemy dies or reaches the end of the path.
