ELO Titles & Buffs

verified 2026-07-16 · VV: Ultimatum systems & progression

Squad-ranked PvP titles - Captain, Espada, Imperial Commander, Lieutenant and Third/Seated Officer - earned by climbing your faction's ELO leaderboard, each granting a flat HP buff on the character slot that earned it.

ELO titles are Ultimatum's ranked PvP prestige tier. Each faction has its own leaderboard, and reaching top slots earns a title that sits alongside your name. The critical caveat: every ELO title is slot-locked - it only applies on the character slot that earned it and does not carry to other slots.

Beyond prestige, top titles grant a flat HP buff: Captain (Soul Reaper), Espada (Arrancar) and Imperial Commander (Quincy) each add +19.6 HP. Lieutenant and Star Crossed Knight add +12.2 HP. Third Seat adds +7.2 HP, Seated Officer +4.7 HP. Losing your rank retires the title into a 'Former' variant (Former Captain, Former Lieutenant, Former War Power) - the buff assumes the same fate.

The Traitor of _ is a separate ELO-adjacent title earned by conscripting to another faction while holding an ELO title (for example, becoming a Shinigami as an Arrancar with the Espada title). It comes in three variants - Traitor of Wandenreich, of Los Noches and of the Soul Society - depending on which faction you left. Faction conscription is done through organizations.

Title tiers per faction

Soul Reaper: Captain of Squad _, Lieutenant of Squad _, Third Seat, Seated Officer.

Arrancar: Espada #1-10, Former Espada.

Quincy: Imperial Commander, Star Cross Knight, Former Imperial Commander.

Cross-faction / overworld: Special War Power #1-5 for the top 5 of the overall leaderboard - retires to Former War Power.

HP buff table

The flat HP added to your max health while the title is held (slot-locked):

+19.6 HP - Captain of Squad _, Espada, Imperial Commander.

+12.2 HP - Lieutenant of Squad _, Star Crossed Knight.

+7.2 HP - Third Seat.

+4.7 HP - Seated Officer.

Losing the rank retires the title into a 'Former' variant and the buff ends with it.

The Traitor title

Awarded when a player with an ELO title conscripts into another faction. The variant depends on which faction was left: Traitor of Wandenreich (leaving Quincy), Traitor of Los Noches (leaving Arrancar), Traitor of the Soul Society (leaving Soul Reaper). Faction conscription is handled through organizations. Flavor line: 'I was never on your side.'

Rewards linked to title equipment

Reaching top ELO also unlocks title-locked cosmetic gear on the same slot: Captain's Cloak (highest overworld ELO in your squad), Espada's Cloak (top 11 ELO Arrancar), Imperial Commander's Cloak (top-ELO Quincy) and Lieutenant Badge (Lieutenant tier). These are documented on their own equipment pages.

Where to view your ELO

Your current ELO count and rank sit under the Feats tab in the character menu. Community reports place typical values in the low double digits for casual players (e.g. 13 ELO after a session of wins/losses).

Anecdotal community reports suggest per-match swings are small: about +3 ELO for a kill, about -5 ELO for a loss. Do not expect dramatic climbs from single matches.

1v1 Ranked queue vs open-world PvP

The dedicated in-game 1v1 queue does NOT currently award ELO despite being a ranked-style queue. Winning gives 2 chests per match but zero ELO.

Open-world PvP kills (Human World, Arctic Plains) and division skirmishes are the actual ELO track. If you are chasing an ELO title, do not rely on the 1v1 queue - fight in the world.

FAQ

Do ELO titles carry between character slots?

No. ELO titles - including the HP buff - are slot-locked. You keep them only on the slot that earned them; a new slot has to climb the leaderboard from scratch.

How much HP does a Captain title give in VV: Ultimatum?

+19.6 HP. The same +19.6 HP applies to Espada (Arrancar) and Imperial Commander (Quincy). Lieutenant and Star Crossed Knight give +12.2 HP, Third Seat +7.2 HP, Seated Officer +4.7 HP.

What happens if I lose my ELO rank?

The active title retires into its 'Former' version (Former Captain, Former Lieutenant, Former War Power etc.) and the HP buff is lost with it. You still keep 'Former' as a prestige marker of what you once held.

How do I get 'The Traitor' title?

Hold an ELO title, then conscript to another faction through the organizations system. The variant is determined by the faction you leave: Wandenreich, Los Noches or Soul Society.

Where do I see my ELO in-game?

Under the Feats tab in the character menu - your current ELO count and rank are displayed there.

Does the 1v1 Ranked queue give ELO?

No - it rewards 2 chests per win but zero ELO. Open-world PvP kills and division skirmishes are the actual ELO track.

How much ELO do I gain or lose per match?

Community reports place per-match swings at about +3 ELO per kill, about -5 ELO per loss - small single-digit changes rather than large jumps.
