How to Attain Vastocar
Vastocar is the best version of becoming an Arrancar: an Arrancar who evolved from Vasto Lorde, the final hollow stage, keeping the maximum four hollow traits. The whole guide boils down to one rule - you can press L to evolve at any stage from Menos onward, but every stage you skip costs you traits permanently. A Menoscar keeps only two traits and minimal stats, an Adjucar three, a Vastocar four.
Progression starts simply: as a base hollow, kill other hollows and eat them when defeated, and reaching level 7 automatically transforms you into a Menos. Along the way, hollow kills have a chance to drop hollow traits - the visible modifications with stats that will only activate later, in Resurreccion as an Arrancar.
Your starting body shapes the run. Four base hollow types are standard - Lizard ('a quick and agile hollow' - speed up, defense down), Centipede (greatly increased speed at the cost of defense and damage), Gorilla (all-round average) and Turtle (defense up, speed down) - while Scorpion (speed plus a dangerous natural poison) and Crocodile (durable, with a grab attack) are obtainable through Ascension prestige.
Evolving into a Vastocar resets your stats but makes you an Arrancar with access to your Arrancar weapon. Choose your final four traits before pressing L - they cannot be changed afterwards. If you evolved early, the Hollow Soul consumable can still bridge the gap to Vastocar.
Details
Base hollow to Menos
Kill other hollows and eat them when defeated - hollow traits drop as a chance from these kills. Reaching level 7 automatically transforms you into a Menos, so this early stage doubles as your first trait farming window.
Menos to Adjuchas
From Menos onward, pressing L evolves you into an Arrancar - as a 'Menoscar' at this stage. Community documentation deeply discourages it: Menoscars get minimal stats and only two hollow traits versus three for an Adjucar and four for a Vastocar.
To progress properly, complete the Menos tasks - destroy 70 objects and kill 8 Hollows (one independent video instead documents 60 objects, with the 8-Hollow kill count matching exactly - object count is unreconciled between sources). Evolution into Adjuchas is automatic once completed. Community showcase footage recommends circling around trees while doing this, since Hollows tend to cluster there, letting you clear both the object and kill counters at once.
Adjuchas to Vasto Lorde
As an Adjuchas you gain a cero and a roar move, and can equip a third hollow trait. You can evolve to Adjucar with L, or keep progressing toward Vasto Lorde - and note that Vasto Lorde remains reachable even after becoming an Adjucar, through Hollow Cores.
The grind itself is 'Gain progress (0/70)' by killing players and/or enemies: Quincies and Shinigami award 10 points each, while arrancars award no points at all. Hunt the other factions, not your future one. A solo route documented in community footage: clear the three Hollows near your starting point, then look nearby for a scorpion Hollow - a harder fight that rewards careful parrying.
Conflicting community report: one video documents the 0/70 bar filling from any player kill (10 points each, regardless of faction) plus 4 points per boss kill and 1 point per regular Hollow kill, and shows a grind route using two friends of any faction (including Arrancar) to farm player kills for a ~7-kill clear. This conflicts with the faction-locked scoring above and is not yet reconciled - treat both versions as pending in-game verification. A separate video independently confirms the 70-point total and documents weak Hollows (e.g. Lizard Hollows) granting only about 0.5 progress per kill, making them a slow route toward that bar.
Vasto Lorde to Vastocar
A Vasto Lorde can hold a total of four hollow traits. Before evolving, farm and refuse traits until you have exactly the set you want - you cannot change them once you have evolved. When you finally press L, your stats reset and you become an Arrancar with access to your Arrancar weapon (details marked tbd in community documentation). From there, progression continues toward Resurreccion - see How to Attain Res.
Community notes (Discord)
Community note (starboard, 128 stars): the Roar move temporarily raises your power to 111% ('not many people know this'). Pending verification.
Community bug note (starboard, 87 stars): resetting your build/skills as a Vasto Lorde is reported to void the Roar move entirely, removing the get-off-me tool. Pending verification.
Community note (starboard posts, 199 and 37 stars): the Vasto Lorde form uses a single body model regardless of which hollow variant you played, and Vasto Lordes cannot wear accessories/vanity - the variant traits only visually resurface later in your Resurreccion. Pending verification.
Community note (starboard, 233 stars): a recent change lets Vasto Lorde players use Gran Rey Cero, but Psycho Crash and Hollow Cutter remain sword-locked and unusable for the fist-only Vasto kit - while Los Lobos users can trigger these sword-requirement skills even with guns out. Pending verification.

FAQ
Should I evolve at Menos, Adjuchas or Vasto Lorde?
Wait for Vasto Lorde if at all possible - a Vastocar keeps four hollow traits, versus three for an Adjucar and only two (plus minimal stats) for a Menoscar.
What counts toward the Vasto Lorde progress bar?
The 70-point bar fills from kills: Quincies and Shinigami give 10 points each, while arrancars give no points.
I already evolved early - am I stuck?
No. The Hollow Soul consumable (3 Hogyoku Shards, 4 Dark Essences, 1 Soul Chain) upgrades a Menoscar or Adjucar to Vastocar, rolling a random fourth trait if you lack one and granting Res weapon access.
