Rewind

Effect
verified 2026-07-18 · Anime Expeditions mechanics

Rewind is a Hard Crowd-Control status effect in Anime Expeditions that forces an enemy to move backward along its path, applied by Puppet (Telekinetic).

Rewind is a Hard Crowd-Control effect that inverts an enemy's movement, forcing it to walk back toward its spawn point instead of stopping it in place. By default it lasts 3 seconds on a 10 second cooldown, and can only be applied up to 10 times against the same enemy.

Currently only Puppet (Telekinetic) documents Rewind as part of its kit, making it one of the more exclusive Hard Crowd-Control tools on the roster compared to the more widely applied Stun.

How Rewind works

Rewind forces the target to move backward along its path for 3 seconds by default, effectively undoing its recent progress rather than freezing it in place. It runs on a 10 second cooldown per applier, and is capped at 10 total applications against any single enemy.

Because Rewind pushes enemies backward rather than immobilizing them outright, it buys extra time by increasing the distance a unit has to travel again, which compounds especially well on longer maps.

Units that apply Rewind

Rewind is applied by Puppet (Telekinetic), the evolved form of Puppet. As the sole documented applier, its kit determines the exact conditions under which Rewind triggers.

Rewind's application cap

Rewind is capped at 10 applications per enemy, a limit not shared by every Hard Crowd-Control effect. On tougher enemies or bosses that survive long enough to hit that cap, further Rewind applications from the same source stop taking effect, so it works best combined with other damage or crowd-control tools rather than as a sole answer to a single enemy.
