Soul Chain

The Soul Chain is the chain of a Lost Soul - flavor text calls it 'an item for correcting one's mistakes', and its two recipes live up to that: both are redemption-flavored crafts. It cannot be sold to vendors at all, which is the game quietly telling you it exists purely for crafting.

Obtaining it is faction-flavored. Anyone can get a Soul Chain by killing a Lost Soul, but Shinigami have the thematic alternative: performing Konso (soul burial) on the Lost Soul yields the chain too, no kill required. Either route works; the Konso option just lets Soul Reaper players stay in character.

Both documented uses are significant. Prayer Beads take 2x Soul Chain, and the Hollow Soul takes 1x - the latter also requiring a Hogyoku Shard per cross-checked materials coverage, tying the humble chain into the Hogyoku economy that drives build-altering endgame items. Since the chain is bankable and droppable but unsellable, there is no decision to make: every Soul Chain you collect is crafting stock. Lost Souls are not a boss-gated source, so a short farming session covers both recipes whenever you decide to commit.

One sourcing note: the item's community infobox mislabels its name field as 'Prayer Beads' - a copy-paste artifact from its recipe. The item itself is the Soul Chain.
