Scorpion Venom
CommonScorpion Venom is harvested from Scorpion-type Hollows - the in-game flavor text warns it should be handled carefully, and for once a Common part's importance backs the drama up. It sells for a token 8 and is droppable and bankable like other parts, but selling it early is a mistake.
Its documented use is the Respirator, crafted at level 27 or above from 1x Spirit Alloy, 1x Scorpion Venom and 1x Lizard Blood. The Respirator is what lets you survive the toxic fumes of the Swamp, and surviving the Swamp is a hard prerequisite for the Crocodile King boss quest at level 35 - which in turn drops the Strength Extract, one of the three extracts for the Mystery Statue Quest and its skill-refund shrine. In other words, this 8-coin venom sits on the critical path of a whole mid-game questline.
Practical advice: bank at least one Scorpion Venom as soon as you see it drop, well before level 27. Scorpion-type Hollows are regular farmable mobs, so replacement is not painful, but having the Respirator ingredients ready the moment you hit the level requirement saves a dedicated farming trip when you would rather be pushing the Crocodile King.

FAQ
What drops Scorpion Venom?
Scorpion-type Hollows - regular farmable mobs, so you can restock on demand.
What is Scorpion Venom used for?
The Respirator recipe (1x Spirit Alloy, 1x Scorpion Venom, 1x Lizard Blood at level 27+). The Respirator is required to survive the Swamp's toxic fumes and reach the Crocodile King.
Should I sell it?
Keep at least one banked before level 27. It only sells for 8, and needing it later for the Respirator - and the Strength Extract chain behind it - is far more expensive in time.
