Zanpakuto Parts

Common to Rare (per part)
verified 2026-07-09 · VV: Ultimatum materials

Zanpakuto Parts are the Handle, Guard and Hilt components Shinigami players in VV: Ultimatum assemble into their Zanpakuto, each part carrying its own rarity and stat buffs or trade-off debuffs.

Unlike every other weapon type in VV: Ultimatum, a Shinigami's Zanpakuto does not come ready to swing. It has to be assembled from three separate components - a Handle, a Guard and a Hilt - and only the completed blade can be wielded as your primary weapon. Because the finished Zanpakuto ties directly into Shikai progression, the parts you pick shape both your immediate stats and your long-term weapon growth.

Each slot has its own pool of parts, with dozens planned per slot, and each part carries a rarity (Common through Rare documented so far) plus a buff, a buff/debuff trade, or occasionally nothing at all. The design space is wide: flat stats like reiatsu and posture, percentage lines like posture damage or melee reiatsu regen, mobility lines like Shunpo stamina and speed, and even elemental damage.

Documented examples show how the trade-offs work. Handles skew simple: Diamond Model Alt. gives +2.0 reiatsu, Wave Model +3.5% posture regen and +1.0 posture, while Bandages give nothing. Guards carry the spiciest trades - Star Guard (Rare) buys +2.5 weapon damage for -20% melee reiatsu regen, Saber Guard Alt. (Rare) gives +2.0 Shunpo stamina and +5.0 Shunpo speed clean, Sun Guard adds +0.5% flame damage. Hilts round the build out: Wyvern Hilt (Rare) mixes weapon and flame damage against a small kido defense loss.

The practical takeaway: treat parts as a build layer, not vendor trash. Debuff lines are only bad if they tax a stat your build uses - a kido-less swordsman loses nothing to Wyvern Hilt's kido defense penalty.

FAQ

Who uses Zanpakuto Parts?

Shinigami only - the parts assemble into the Zanpakuto, the Soul Reaper primary weapon. Other factions' weapons come ready to use.

How many parts do I need?

Three, one per slot: a Handle, a Guard and a Hilt. Once combined, the completed Zanpakuto becomes your main weapon and feeds into Shikai progression.

Do part debuffs matter?

Only if they hit stats your build uses. Trade-off parts like Star Guard (-20% melee reiatsu regen for +2.5 weapon damage) can be a clean win or a real cost depending on your kit.
