Boss Timers and Locations

verified 2026-07-16 · VV: Ultimatum bosses

VV: Ultimatum's rotating world bosses spawn at :20 past the hour EST - Junichiro and The Parasite on even hours, and The Northern Army, the Quincy Commander and the Masked Warrior on odd hours.

VV: Ultimatum runs its scheduled world bosses on an alternating hourly clock. On every even hour at :20 EST (2:20, 4:20, and so on), Junichiro appears in Hueco Mundo and The Parasite appears in the Human World. On every odd hour at :20 EST (1:20, 3:20, and so on), three bosses spawn: The Northern Army and the Quincy Commander in the Arctic Plains, and the Masked Warrior in the Soul Society Outskirts.

In practice this means at least one scheduled boss window opens every hour, and the odd-hour window is the busiest with three simultaneous spawns across two regions. Since the Arctic Plains hosts two odd-hour bosses at once, groups often split between the Northern Army commanders and the Quincy Commander during that window.

A few other bosses run on their own local timers instead of the hourly schedule: The Crocodile King respawns on his throne in the marsh roughly every 5 minutes, Nix has a documented respawn timer of 7 minutes 30 seconds, and Calamitas is not on a timer at all - it is summoned at the Hueco Mundo ritual site using Ritual Oil, with a cooldown of roughly 5 minutes between summons.

A timezone caveat applies to this whole page: the community documentation this schedule is built on frames every spawn time in EST, but at least one video source disputes that. Radex Tips states that The Grey Hunter - a Soul Society Outskirts field boss not listed in the rotation above - spawns at 20 minutes past odd-numbered UTC hours. The :20 anchor matches the rest of the schedule, so either community sources disagree on the timezone or the underlying schedule is UTC and the EST framing is wrong. Both readings are recorded as-is rather than merged; the timezone, and the Grey Hunter's place in the rotation, are pending in-game verification.

Community notes (Discord)

Community-documented world-boss behavior (June 2026): players who die to a boss effectively heal it ("healthpacking"), and a boss such as Lord Nivis can despawn if the encounter drags on after wipes.

FAQ

What time do bosses spawn in VV: Ultimatum?

Scheduled world bosses spawn at :20 past the hour EST. Even hours (2:20, 4:20, ...) spawn Junichiro in Hueco Mundo and The Parasite in the Human World; odd hours (1:20, 3:20, ...) spawn The Northern Army and the Quincy Commander in the Arctic Plains plus the Masked Warrior in the Soul Society Outskirts.

Which bosses are not on the hourly schedule?

The Crocodile King (roughly 5-minute respawn in the marsh), Nix (7 minute 30 second respawn) and Calamitas, which must be summoned with Ritual Oil at the Hueco Mundo ritual site on a roughly 5-minute cooldown.

What timezone are the boss timers in?

Disputed. Community documentation lists all scheduled spawn times in EST, but Radex Tips gives the Grey Hunter's timer as :20 past odd UTC hours. The :20 anchor is consistent across sources; the timezone is pending in-game verification, so check both readings if a spawn window seems off by hours.
