Kraus Bach

Kraus Bach is one of the two mission-gated boss encounters in the Soul Society Outskirts, carrying the title Retired General. Unlike the region's open-world bosses - the Giant Dragonfly you can walk up to by following the red lamp posts, or the Grey Hunter roaming the Outskirts - Kraus Bach does not exist in the world until you trigger him. To start the fight, accept a Mission from your base; the encounter then loads as part of that mission.

Community documentation places him in the early story band, listed as a level 1-30 mission encounter, which makes him part of the first progression phase after the tutorial: clear Gelum, work the Outskirts bosses, and pick up the base missions that introduce story fights like Kraus Bach and the Masked Fiend.

His drop table is the big open question - every source we cross-checked lists his rewards as still to be confirmed, so treat any specific drop claim you see elsewhere as unverified. The general boss rules still apply in the fight itself: telegraphed attacks can be parried, while red-glowing attacks cannot be parried and must be dodged.
