Monkey
The Monkey is one of the trickier standard hollows because it does something most mobs cannot: it parries you back. Its documented Parry deals high posture damage with low damage when it catches your attack, punishing mindless m1 spam harder than any raw stat line would. Its basic string is also unusually short - the community notes it only has 2 m1s - so its rhythm feels different from other hollows.
On offense it runs Triple Smash, a parryable, blockable, dodgeable three-hit combo at medium damage and medium posture damage, plus a Roar posture poke. Bead Throw is the standout ranged threat: medium damage with medium-high posture damage, technically dodgeable but flagged in the documentation as difficult to dodge - parrying or blocking it is usually the safer answer.
The Monkey drops Scrap Metal, which is notable for being a crafting material rather than a standard hollow part. Its spawn zone is not documented in the community source.
