The Grey Hunter
The Grey Hunter is a field boss in the Soul Society Outskirts. Per Radex Tips (corroborated by PhoenixVids footage), its spawn area sits close to the Giant Dragonfly: teleport to the Soul Society Outskirts, turn around and run straight to the area with many torii gates and stone lamps.
Its documented kit has four moves. Poison Spew is a short-range AoE around the boss that cannot be countered - dash away. Claw attacks are deflectable and parryable, and parrying them builds the boss's posture. Jump Slam - it launches up and crashes down with heavy damage and knockback - is its most dangerous tool. The Cero beam is handled by circling around the boss if you are close, or running sideways if far. In its Gauntlet trial version, Its_Nin's footage adds a fifth tool: a ranged arrow attack used as an opener against distant players - blocking the arrows stacks posture fast, so dodge them instead; its poison breath also deals heavy posture damage there.
On spawn timing, sources conflict: Radex Tips states the Grey Hunter spawns at 20 minutes past odd-numbered UTC hours, while our boss schedule page frames all scheduled world-boss timers in EST and does not include the Grey Hunter in the rotation. The :20 anchor matches, but the timezone and the boss's membership in the rotation are pending in-game verification - both readings are recorded here rather than merged.
The Grey Hunter cannot rush you down, so it can be safely kited and killed with spammed projectiles; ranged builds make the fight much more comfortable (per Radex Tips, corroborated by Its_Nin's Gauntlet strategy). Its direct drops are the Poison Touch charm and Spider Eggs, and it also appears as the second wave of the Gauntlet's 'The Other Side' trial chain.

Moveset and counterplay
Per Radex Tips: Poison Spew is a short-range AoE around the boss that cannot be countered - the only answer is dashing out of range. Claw attacks are deflectable and parryable, and are your main source of posture damage on the boss. Jump Slam sees it launch upward and crash down with heavy damage and knockback - the most dangerous move in the kit. Against the Cero beam, circle around the boss if you are close and run sideways if you are far.
In the Gauntlet's 'The Other Side' trial, Its_Nin's footage shows the Grey Hunter opening with a ranged arrow attack when you are far away; blocking the arrows stacks posture quickly, so dodge them, and its poison breath also deals heavy posture damage in that mode.
Because the Grey Hunter has no way to rush you down, it can be kited indefinitely and killed with spammed projectiles - ranged builds trivialize much of the fight.
