Steel Grey Pauldrons

The Steel Grey Pauldrons are a workhorse Uncommon misc piece whose most valuable stat is arguably not a combat number at all: +2 Equipment Load. Load capacity governs how much gear weight you can carry, and only two other documented pieces provide it (the Engineer's Workwear and Snowhide Hunter's Tunic, both body slot) - making these pauldrons the only documented load-expanding option for the misc slot. The +4 Max Health and +0.5% Melee Defense round them out as light protection.

They drop from various chests across the game, with no documented drop rate, level requirement or weight of their own. For players running heavy loadouts, slotting these can be what allows a bulkier body piece to fit; for everyone else they are an unremarkable but honest health trinket.

Compared with their Uncommon shelf-mates, the Samurai's Waist Guards offer more balanced defenses and the Warrior's Pauldrons more raw mitigation or health - the Steel Grey pair wins only when the load matters, which is exactly the niche worth remembering them for. One of the 13 equipment modifiers can appear on them; a Spacious roll (+11% Equipment Load) would compound their specialty. A Tailor rerolls modifiers for 400-500 Soul Tokens.
