Heavenly Restriction

Tier 3
verified 2026-07-12 · VV: Ultimatum spirit charms

Heavenly Restriction is a Tier 3 Spirit Charm in VV: Ultimatum that trades all ability usage for level-scaling physical power - up to 35% stronger physical attacks, up to 15% movement speed, up to 25% kido defense, and critical attacks that proc Kill Confirmed.

Heavenly Restriction is the game's full commitment to the body-over-technique fantasy - its lore text records shinigami born thousands of years ago who "could never utilize techniques". Equip it and you cannot use abilities to any capacity. In exchange, your body becomes the weapon: physical attacks grow up to 35% more potent, you gain up to 15% more movement speed, and up to 25% more kido defense, with all three bonuses scaling with your level.

On top of the stat package, your critical attacks now proc Kill Confirmed - the head-detonating knock effect that is normally its own Tier 3 charm - making your criticals lethal finishers without spending a second charm slot on it. The tooltip also notes it does not fully stack with Warrior's Spirit, the other ability-denial melee charm.

This is a build-defining pick rather than a stat stick: no abilities means no kido, no utility skills, nothing but movement, melee, and reads. It requires Level 20, weighs 1 wt., and is documented as found in Hueco Mundo. It also grants a documented cosmetic: one of your eyes glows red while the charm is worn.

Community notes (Discord)

Community details (Discord, 258-star post): Heavenly Restriction cannot use Manual Rushdown at all, on top of the ability lockout - HR users cannot teleport-chase, so they can be zoned. The same post reports the up-to-35% physical scaling "simply doesn't work" in practice (HR M1 damage barely above normal), suspecting a bug or untested scaling, and notes that fusing a second charm to make HR viable costs at least 12% max HP (6% per node over 3).

Community-documented (June 2026): builds stacking M1-damage charms at the cost of racial skills and modes were reported hitting 60-80 damage per M1 in PvP - roughly three or more health bars per swing.

Community trade value

Community-tier value based on roughly 120,000 launch-window trade messages (June 2026): Heavenly Restriction typically changed hands for about 4 Hogyoku Shards. It was one of the most requested Tier 3 charms in the launch-window trade market, with want-side mentions outpacing sell-side offers - a deficit item relative to most other Tier 3 charms.

FAQ

Can you use any abilities with Heavenly Restriction?

No - the charm disables ability usage entirely ("to any capacity"). The build becomes pure movement and physical melee, compensated by level-scaling attack, speed, and kido-defense bonuses.

Does Heavenly Restriction stack with Warrior's Spirit?

The tooltip states it does not fully stack with Warrior's Spirit, so running both melee-restriction charms together yields diminished returns.

Is Heavenly Restriction overpowered?

Community opinion is split: one widely-starred Discord complaint (393 stars, June 2026) lists Heavenly Restriction among "broken charms" when paired with Blademaster on Quincy melee builds, while an equally detailed 258-star post argues the opposite - that HR is "purely negative", non-meta, and that its up-to-35% physical scaling barely raises M1 damage in practice. Both are community opinions; treat its meta standing as unresolved.
