Kurohitsugi (SR)
Kurohitsugi (SR) appears in the Kido group of the skill essence list, and its community documentation currently records exactly one fact: the skill is race-locked to Shinigami. The '(SR)' tag in its name marks that Soul Reaper restriction, and the same naming convention appears on other essences such as Grand King's Cero (A).
Everything else about the essence - its damage, cast behavior, cooldown, Reiatsu cost, stat or level requirements, and its drop source - is undocumented at this time. Given that neighboring Kido essences like Radiant Edge and Grand King's Cero drop from bosses and raids, a similar acquisition route is plausible but unconfirmed, and should be treated as subject to change per current documentation.
The name itself is one of Bleach's most famous Kido spells, the 'Black Coffin', which in the source material envelops a target in a box of dark energy pierced by blades. How faithfully VV: Ultimatum adapts that behavior is not yet described by the community, so this page will be expanded once testing data lands. For now, Shinigami players should simply know the essence exists and is exclusively theirs.

Community-documented role (Discord, 805-star post): Kurohitsugi functions as the SKido tree's skill-essence ultimate - the Soul Reaper Kido tree "additionally has Kurohitsugi as a skill essence ultimate" on top of its own node moves. This is the first documented gameplay role for the essence beyond its Shinigami race lock.

Community trade value
Community-tier value based on roughly 120,000 launch-window trade messages (June 2026): Kurohitsugi (SR) typically changed hands for about 10 Hogyoku Shards. It was wanted roughly twice as often as it was offered in the launch-window trade market - a clear deficit item among Kido skill essences, consistent with its Shinigami-only race lock limiting supply.
