Syndicate Leader

verified 2026-07-17 · MythFall bosses

The Syndicate Leader is Act 1's first boss- the head of the Syndicate, the criminal faction terrorizing Island One's starting region. Every detail on this page is pre-release creator documentation from the July 8 Act 1 test build, pending in-game verification at launch.

The Syndicate Leader is the first named boss beyond the tutorial's Hellel, documented from two independent creator playthroughs of the pre-release Act 1 test build (around July 8, 2026). Nothing on this page comes from developer statements- it is all creator footage of a test build, so names, encounter structure and even who exactly you fight are pending in-game verification at launch.

The faction first: Act 1's enemies are 'the Syndicate'- criminals a knight-captain NPC describes as having 'been terrorizing this region for a while' (shown-in-video). Their field mobs appear in quest text as 'masked assailants' ('Beat the masked assailants'), and Act 1's early objectives revolve around defending villagers from them and rescuing a captive girl. Exact capitalization of 'Syndicate' is unverified- it was spoken in NPC dialogue, not read from a faction UI.

The boss encounter, as documented in one run: a figure introduces himself as the Syndicate leader ('And who might you be?'), fights the player, escapes mid-fight ('No matter, you will soon suffer'), returns, and on defeat drops boss loot plus a reward chest (shown-in-video).

But there is a name-reconciliation problem the wiki flags openly. In a second creator's run of the same build, the criminal leader's name displays as '?'- the game deliberately hides it- and he does not fight at all: he orders a subordinate called 'Oasis' to fight instead ('Get rid of him, Oasis'), then escapes and reappears alive later. So the boss you actually defeat may be Oasis, with 'Syndicate Leader' being the escaping villain's title- or the two runs saw different encounter states. 'Oasis' comes from auto-captions and may be garbled; frame-level verification is needed before this wiki splits the page in two.

Either way, the '?' name display marks the Syndicate's leader as a story-important character- an unnamed villain the game is saving for later acts. He survives Act 1 in both documented runs, which fits the end-of-Act-1 screen framing Act 2 as 'the first major arc for Island One'.

Phase HP thresholds

Phase 1; triggers on spawn (HP ratio 1.0). Full moveset enabled: LightAttack, CloseRangeCombo, RangedHeavy_VerticalFireSlash, FireballBarrage.

Flee- triggers at HP ratio 0.5 (half health), on the story-variant spawn only. No moves are enabled in this phase- it's an escape state, not a combat phase, which lines up with the leader escaping mid-fight ('No matter, you will soon suffer') in the documented pre-release run above. The Syndicate Hideout dungeon repeat has no Flee phase recorded- that fight runs Phase 1 only, presumably to completion.

FAQ

Who is the Act 1 boss in MythFall?

Pre-release footage documents a boss fight against the Syndicate's leadership- introduced as the 'Syndicate leader' in one run, while in another run the hidden-name ('?') leader orders a subordinate called 'Oasis' to fight in his place. Which name the release build attaches to the fought boss is verified in-game at launch.

What is the Syndicate?

Act 1's criminal enemy faction, described in NPC dialogue as terrorizing Island One's starting region. Their field mobs appear in quest text as 'masked assailants'. All pre-release creator documentation from the July 8 test build.

Does the Syndicate Leader die in Act 1?

No- in both documented pre-release runs the leader escapes and reappears alive, with his name hidden as '?'. That marks him as an ongoing story villain rather than a one-act boss.

Narrative summary/FAQ is pre-release creator documentation from the July 8, 2026 Act 1 test build- no developer statement covers this boss, and names ('Syndicate', 'Oasis') plus the '?' name display are pending in-game verification. The attributes, Moveset and Phase HP thresholds sections were added separately from Mythfall client data (enemies-enriched.json, mob id SyndicateLeader), which confirms a distinct Elite-class subordinate exists in the data under the display name 'Syndicate Officer'- a plausible match for the 'Oasis' subordinate from the narrative, though the client data does not use that name anywhere; see the separate Syndicate Officer enemy page. The story-variant boss also has a scripted 'Flee' phase at 50% HP with zero moves enabled, matching the leader escaping mid-fight in the documented footage. No final computed HP is published; base template HP is shown as extracted. updated · GuideDex staff. Report a correction.
