Types & Type Chart
The developers have confirmed 17 Eleon types, each with specific interactions against the others - the classic effectiveness triangle expanded to a 17x17 grid. Dual-typed Eleons appear throughout the revealed roster, so defensive typing will stack two sets of matchups.
The type names now have an official anchor: an early on-screen types graphic, shown in creator coverage, listed 16 official names - Basic, Pyro, Hydro, Nature, Wind, Electric, Martial, Geo, Soul, Psychic, Metal, Ice, Toxic, Dark, Light and Mystic. That graphic predates the later 17-type crystal chart tease, so one type was likely added after it - and notably, the fan-circulated 17-name list matches these 16 plus Bug, making Bug the probable late addition (an inference, not a confirmation).
Combat descriptions reference type effectiveness, same-type attack bonus (STAB) and weather effects as damage factors. The exact multipliers have not been officially published, and the full effectiveness chart remains the single biggest missing data point before launch - treat all matchup numbers on fan sites as unconfirmed until the game ships.
The official type names (early 16-type graphic)
An on-screen official graphic captured in early creator coverage lists 16 types: Basic, Pyro, Hydro, Nature, Wind, Electric, Martial, Geo, Soul, Psychic, Metal, Ice, Toxic, Dark, Light, Mystic. The list is credible - it correctly contains Pyro and Hydro, both independently verified from official ability text ('pyro moves', 'pyro damage') and reveal material - but it comes from a single early video, and it shows 16 names against the later-confirmed count of 17, so it should be read as a pre-release snapshot rather than the final chart.
A later official sneak peek showed the 17-type presentation: a large central crystal surrounded by 17 type symbols (water, grass and fire icons visible), with many symbols still unrevealed. Reconciling the two graphics suggests one type was added between them; since the fan-database 17-name list is exactly the 16 official names plus Bug, Bug is the community's best candidate for the addition - but that reconciliation is an inference until the developers publish the full set.
Supporting evidence for individual names keeps surfacing in footage: 'Martial' appears garbled as 'marshall' in official creature-description text read by two independent creators (Freever described as an ice/martial type, plus a 'metal marshall' Eleon), consistent with the graphic's Martial entry.
What the official names mean in genre terms
Two useful translations come from creator coverage, each from a single source and labeled accordingly: Geo is described as Rock and Ground merged into one type (creator-stated, citing the type list posted in the official Discord), and Mystic is described as the game's Dragon equivalent (same single-creator sourcing). Both fit the graphic's naming but await official confirmation.
The starters' official types follow the list rather than colloquial genre names: Vinuki is Nature (not 'Grass'), Scoraptor is Pyro (not 'Fire') and Cascub is Hydro (not 'Water') - shown in the same early official graphic coverage. This wiki keeps colloquial names in some older text for readability; the official names take precedence.
What the earlier fan/official discrepancy still tells us: legendaries and Wardens are consistently tagged with an extra descriptor in fan catalogues (Rootitan as Grass/Ancient, Aquietus as Water/Ancient), and words like Ancient, Crystal and Brave appear nowhere in the official 16-name graphic - hinting at either special boss typings or fan shorthand. Unconfirmed either way. One creator also claimed an 'Air' secondary typing for Scoraptor; 'Air' is not on the official list (Wind is), so we treat that as a misnaming.
STAB, dual types and weather
STAB (a damage bonus when an Eleon uses a move matching its own type) and weather effects are both referenced in the game's combat feature descriptions. Fan calculators assume the genre-standard 1.5x STAB and multiplicative dual-type stacking (two 2x weaknesses becoming 4x), which is plausible but not officially stated.
Revealed creatures already show dual typings in fan catalogues - Syrinfly (Bug/Flying), Jestigator (Water/Dark), Freever (Ice/Martial), Igniram (Fire/Earth) - so team-building around coverage will matter from day one. This page will be replaced with the verified in-game chart at launch.
FAQ
How many types are in Eleons?
17 - confirmed by the developers' feature descriptions and a crystal-chart sneak peek showing 17 type symbols. An earlier official graphic listed 16 names, so one type (probably Bug, per fan-list comparison) was likely added later.
What are the official type names in Eleons?
From an early official graphic: Basic, Pyro, Hydro, Nature, Wind, Electric, Martial, Geo, Soul, Psychic, Metal, Ice, Toxic, Dark, Light and Mystic - with a 17th type not yet officially named. Geo is described as Rock+Ground merged and Mystic as the Dragon equivalent, both per single-creator coverage.
Is there an official Eleons type chart?
Not yet. The type names have surfaced, but the effectiveness grid has not - fan sites show 17x17 charts, but one labels its data a placeholder and the other's numbers are unsourced. The verified chart will be documented here at launch.
Does Eleons have STAB?
STAB is referenced in the game's combat descriptions alongside type effectiveness and weather effects, but the exact multiplier is unconfirmed - fan tools assume 1.5x.
