Mounts & Traversal
Mounts are confirmed by the developers' own feature descriptions, making traversal one of the systems that pushes Eleons toward the MMO end of the creature-collector spectrum. What a mount actually is - rideable Eleons, separate mount creatures, or vehicles - has not been shown.
The one traversal tool with actual footage is the surfboard: the official trailer shows players riding surfboards across water, which creators immediately connected to reaching aquatic zones and water-dwelling Eleons. Aquietus' island-set reveal implies off-shore content exists to reach.
The companion layer is traversal-adjacent and well evidenced: your Eleons run behind you in the overworld (shown in the trailer) and can be summoned to follow you (shown in earlier sneak peeks), consistent with the game's bonding and Base Camp systems.
What is shown versus what is assumed
Shown: surfboard riding on water in the trailer; follower Eleons in multiple official clips; a multi-biome overworld with island areas that presuppose water crossing. Stated: mounts, in the official feature list. That is the complete verified picture.
Assumed by the community but unconfirmed: that large Eleons are rideable, that flying or swimming mounts exist for late-game zones, that surfboards are an early-game item, and that traversal upgrades gate region access in the Pokemon HM tradition. None of this has an official source - the flying shown so far belongs to a legendary (Aquietus), not to the player.
Also unknown: whether mounts are obtained, tamed, purchased or crafted, and whether the camp/life-skill economy feeds into traversal gear. With fishing confirmed as a life skill and surfboards in the trailer, water content looks central enough that traversal mechanics should be among the first systems fully documented at launch - this page will be rebuilt then.
