Flower Forest Expedition
Flower Forest Expedition runs on the Expedition game mode's defense format rather than the Story mode's wave-clear format. Instead of simply killing every spawn, the objective is protecting a payload as 5 defense waves escalate from 4x Buddha (Blue) and 8x Buddha (Green) in wave 1 up to a wave 5 mix of 9x Buddha (Blue), 8x Buddha (Green), and Purple Flower itself. A separate Elite Wave track runs in parallel through the same five boss encounters seen in Flower Forest's Story acts, Centipede, Butterfly, Yellow Petal, Orange Petal, and finally Purple Flower again as the fifth and hardest elite check.
Three enemy modifiers appear across the defense waves: Explosive, Burrowing, and Sprinter. Explosive spawns stun everything nearby the moment they die, so units clustered too close to a dying Explosive enemy can get locked out of attacking right when the wave count spikes. Burrowing spawns dodge hits on a timer by ducking underground, and Sprinter spawns trade health for a large burst of speed, both of which push toward AoE damage over single-target snipers for clearing the field quickly.
The stage closes with Purple Flower directly assaulting the payload rather than just being one more wave entry, hitting for 100 damage roughly every 10 seconds once it reaches the path. That number makes payload health and repair economy the real bottleneck for a first clear, more so than raw team damage. Clearing the stage rewards ExpeditionMaterial2, a zone-specific crafting material, in place of the flat Gem and Gold payout that Story and Raid stages use, so Expedition income should be tracked separately from a team's general Gem farming route.
Details
Wave breakdown
Defense wave 1 opens with 4x Buddha (Blue), 8x Buddha (Green).
Defense wave 3 settles into 6x Buddha (Blue), 7x Buddha (Green) as the mid-point check.
Defense wave 5 closes with 9x Buddha (Blue), 8x Buddha (Green), and Purple Flower joining the fight directly.
The parallel Elite Wave track runs Centipede, then Butterfly, then Yellow Petal, then Orange Petal, then Purple Flower as a fifth solo encounter.
Farm efficiency
Because Expedition stages pay crafting material instead of Gems and Gold, Flower Forest Expedition is not a currency farm in the same sense as its Story counterpart; it is the source of ExpeditionMaterial2 specifically. Runs are worth prioritizing when that material is needed for expedition upgrades, and can otherwise be deprioritized in favor of Story or Raid stages when the goal is pure Gem income.
FAQ
How is Flower Forest Expedition different from Flower Forest's Story acts?
Story acts are straight wave-clear stages ending in one boss. Flower Forest Expedition is a defense-format stage protecting a payload across 5 escalating waves, with Purple Flower eventually attacking the payload directly for 100 damage roughly every 10 seconds, and it pays ExpeditionMaterial2 instead of Gems and Gold.
What does Flower Forest Expedition reward?
ExpeditionMaterial2, a crafting material tied to this specific zone's Expedition content, rather than the flat Gem and Gold payout used by Story and Raid stages.
What enemy modifiers should I prepare for in Flower Forest Expedition?
Explosive (stuns everything close by the moment it dies), Burrowing (burrows underground on a timer to dodge incoming attacks), and Sprinter (trades health for a large burst of movement speed).
