Linear Dungeon

verified 2026-07-17 · MythFall dungeons

Linear Dungeon is Mythfall's generic procedural dungeon for levels 1-10, stringing together 5 to 10 rooms drawn from a straight_hall / L_hall / boss_room pool before ending on a single guaranteed boss-room encounter.

Each run assembles 5 to 10 rooms from a 3-type pool. Straight halls are the most common draw (weight 10) and L-shaped halls half as likely (weight 5); both spawn 1-2 enemies rolled between an Elite (weight 1) and a Ravine (weight 10), so most rank-and-file fights in the dungeon are Ravine encounters. The run always closes on a single boss room that guarantees exactly 1 enemy, rolled between an Elite (weight 5) and a Villain (weight 10). Every enemy type drops the same Trojan gear set - Trojan Leggings, Trojan Armor and Trojan Helmet - weighted differently per enemy (Elites favor Leggings and Helmet at weight 5 each over Armor at weight 1; Ravines only drop Armor and Helmet at weight 1 each; the boss-room Villain drops all three pieces evenly at weight 2/2/1).

The dungeon has no level requirement to enter (requirements.level is 0) and scales for 1-4 players, with level_range set to 1-10 - it reads as the game's entry-level, repeatable dungeon rather than a story-gated one. Like all of Mythfall's dungeons it scales under the shared Dungeon time-to-kill table across difficulty modes, and enemy stats scale down for solo play and up to a maximum of 4 players under the Dungeon party-scaling multiplier.

Room pool & enemies

straight_hall - weight 10, spawns 1-2 enemies rolled between Elite (weight 1) and Ravine (weight 10). Most common room in the pool.

L_hall - weight 5, same 1-2 enemy pool as straight_hall (Elite weight 1 / Ravine weight 10), half as likely to be drawn.

boss_room - always the final room, spawns exactly 1 enemy rolled between Elite (weight 5) and Villain (weight 10).

Drop pool: Elite kills favor Trojan Leggings and Trojan Helmet (weight 5 each) over Trojan Armor (weight 1). Ravine kills only drop Trojan Armor and Trojan Helmet (weight 1 each). The boss-room Villain drops all three pieces at weight 2/2/1 (Leggings/Armor/Helmet).

Scaling

Dungeon time-to-kill targets by difficulty (Normal / Elite / Boss mob): Normal mode 20s / 60s / 300s, Hard mode 15s / 45s / 240s, Nightmare mode 10s / 30s / 180s, Insanity mode 5s / 15s / 120s.

Party scaling multiplies enemy stats by 0.7x per additional player above the base of 1 for Dungeon-tagged content, and by 0.8x for Boss-tagged encounters specifically - so a full 4-player party fights noticeably softer per-enemy stats than a solo run, by design.

FAQ

What level should I be for the Linear Dungeon?

It has no entry level requirement and a level_range of 1-10, making it Mythfall's baseline early-game dungeon.

What gear drops from the Linear Dungeon?

The Trojan set - Trojan Leggings, Trojan Armor and Trojan Helmet - with drop odds that vary by which enemy type (Elite, Ravine or the boss-room Villain) you kill.

Does the Linear Dungeon have a fixed, named boss?

No. The boss room rolls a generic Elite or Villain enemy rather than spawning a unique named boss.
