Its main use is feeding the Resource Drill, an Expedition Hub building that processes one Fuel Cell every 5 minutes for a chance at a Geode. Upgrading the Resource Drill raises that chance from 50% to 75% per Fuel Cell.

How to get Fuel Cell
Fuel Cell drops from every node type across all three Expedition maps. Boss Nodes pay 5 to 15 per clear, while Assault Nodes and Defence Nodes each pay 3 to 5, on School Grounds, Flower Forest and Rose Kingdom alike.
What Fuel Cell is used for
Fuel Cell is spent at the Resource Drill, an Expedition Hub building that mines Geodes. Each Fuel Cell takes 300 seconds to process and has a chance to yield one Geode, 50% at Resource Drill Level 1 and 75% at Level 2. The Resource Drill itself is unlocked for 10,000 Gold, 750 Expedition Coin and 150 Cursed Timber, then upgraded further with Lush Dirt on top of those same resources.
