VV: Ultimatum Clan Tier List - Best Clans for Every Faction

verified · updated 2026-07-11 · VV: Ultimatum

This is a community meta tier list as of July 2026, built by cross-checking Pro Game Guides (updated July 8, 2026 for Update 2) against Destructoid (June 6, 2026), with stat lines verified against additional race-page data. Where the two outlets disagree, we say so instead of averaging silently.

The headline is easy: three clans are S tier on every list - Shihoin (Shinigami), Cifer (Hollow) and Kurosaki (Quincy), all Legendary at 1% odds. Below that, the outlets diverge more than you might expect. Full stat lines for every clan live on our Clans system page and the individual faction pages.

S tier - the unanimous three

Shihoin is the mobility king of the Shinigami pool: +5 Shunpo Speed, a large Shunpo Stamina boost (sources list +12 to +15), plus small Lightning and Hakuda damage riders. In a game where flashstep economy decides both chases and escapes, it is the best clan in the game for most builds.

Cifer's +20% Longer Resurreccion is the single most build-defining clan effect anywhere - more uptime on your awakened form - stacked on +2% Kido Damage, +5 Reiatsu and +2.5 Shunpo Stamina. Kurosaki is the Quincy all-rounder: +2 Reiatsu, +2% Weapon Damage and +5 Shunpo Speed touch every part of a Quincy kit.

A tier - strong rolls worth keeping

These are consensus keeps, with the disagreements noted:

  • Kuchiki (Shinigami, Rare) - +3% Kido Damage, the cleanest caster buff; Destructoid puts it S, PGG A
  • Yamamoto (Shinigami, Rare) - +2% Weapon Damage, +5 Shunpo Stamina; Destructoid S, PGG A
  • Komamura (Shinigami, Legendary) - wolfman form, +4% Melee Defense, +1% Weapon Damage, -2% Kido Defense; A on both lists
  • Aaroniero (Hollow, Legendary) - +2.2% Kido Damage, +5 Reiatsu, +1.5% Kido Defense at the cost of -1.5% Melee Defense; A on both lists
  • Jaegerjaquez (Hollow, Rare) - +3% Hakuda Damage, +3 Shunpo Stamina, the Hakuda-build pick; PGG A, Destructoid S
  • Kufang (Hollow, Rare) - +2.5% Weapon Damage, +0.5% Kido Defense; the biggest split in the Hollow pool: Destructoid S, PGG only B
  • Eisenhauer (Quincy, Legendary) - metal arm, +3% Melee Defense, +5 Posture, +0.5% Hakuda Damage; A on both lists
  • Ishida and Haschwalth (Quincy, Rare) - +2% Kido Damage/+5 Shunpo Stamina and +2.5% Kido Damage respectively; Destructoid S, PGG A
  • Murciellago (Hollow, Common) - +5 Shunpo Stamina, +10 Shunpo Speed; the best Common in the game, PGG A vs Destructoid B

B tier - fine to play, not worth rerolling for

Hitsugaya (Shinigami, Rare: +3 Reiatsu, +2.5% Kido Defense) and Hisagi (Shinigami, Uncommon: +1.2% Kido Damage, +3% Posture Regen) are defensive or hybrid lines both outlets park in B. On the Hollow side, Antenor (+1.5% Lightning Damage, +7.5% Posture Regen) and Gingerbuck (+2% Melee Defense, +5 Posture) are B on both lists.

The Quincy middle is where the outlets flip most: Kraus (+1.5% Melee Defense, +1% Kido Defense) and Richter (+1% Weapon Damage, +2.5 Posture) are A for Destructoid but B for PGG; Parnkgjas and Wernarr are B on both. Parnkgjas carries a stat conflict too - one source lists +3.5% Kido Defense with +1% Melee Defense, while Destructoid prints the Melee Defense as -1%.

C-D tier - reroll fodder

The Equipment Load Commons - Schulte (Quincy), Calius (Hollow) and Madarame (Shinigami), all +5 Equipment Load - sit at the bottom of both lists, alongside Lousienbairn (+5 Health, +3.5 Posture), Matsumoto (+5 Reiatsu per Destructoid) and Abarai (+5 Health, +2.5% Posture Regen; PGG is kinder with a B, Destructoid says C). Equipment Load is the least combat-relevant stat in the game, which is why these are the archetypal reroll clans.

The blind spots: clans neither outlet ranked

Three documented clans appear in neither published tier list: Kurotsuchi (Shinigami, Legendary), Lloyd (Quincy, Rare) and Chelute (Hollow, Legendary). Reading their stat lines rather than inventing placements: Kurotsuchi (4% cheaper Spirit Charm overflow, +1.5% Kido Defense, +5 Reiatsu) is a utility Legendary that would slot around A for charm-heavy players; Lloyd's free Sensory passives and +0.1 Max AP are real progression value, roughly A-B; Chelute's +2.5% Weapon Damage, +5 Health, +1% Melee Defense reads like a solid A-tier bruiser line. Treat those three placements as our editorial read, not sourced meta.

Where the sources disagree - quick reference

  • Shihoin Shunpo Stamina: +15 (PGG) vs +12.5 (Destructoid) vs +12% (another source)
  • Kufang: S (Destructoid) vs B (PGG) - the largest tier gap on any clan
  • Ishida/Haschwalth: S (Destructoid) vs A (PGG); Kuchiki/Yamamoto: S (Destructoid) vs A (PGG)
  • Murciellago: A (PGG) vs B (Destructoid); Abarai: B (PGG) vs C (Destructoid)
  • Kraus/Richter: A (Destructoid) vs B (PGG)
  • Komamura middle buff: +1% Weapon Damage (PGG and another source) vs +1% Melee Damage (Destructoid)
  • Abarai: +5 Health/+2.5% Posture Regen (Destructoid and another source) vs +8 Health/+3% (earlier documentation)

FAQ

What is the best clan in VV: Ultimatum?

By community consensus: Shihoin for Shinigami, Cifer for Hollows and Kurosaki for Quincy - the only three clans ranked S by both Pro Game Guides and Destructoid. All are Legendary at 1% odds.

Which clans should I reroll?

The +5 Equipment Load Commons - Madarame, Calius and Schulte - plus Lousienbairn and Matsumoto. The one Common worth keeping is Murciellago (+5 Shunpo Stamina, +10 Shunpo Speed).

Is a Rare clan good enough to keep?

Usually yes. Kuchiki, Yamamoto, Ishida, Haschwalth, Jaegerjaquez and Kufang all appear in S or A tier on at least one major list, and clan buffs are small enough that chasing a 1% Legendary is a luxury, not a requirement.
