Is Bankai in VV: Ultimatum? Current Status of Bankai, Segunda & Vollstandig

Current status: not in the game
A developer has confirmed that Bankai, Vollstandig and full Resurreccion are not implemented, and a content creator stated on June 4, 2026: 'as of right now in VV, there is no Bankai or Voltstanding or Full Res.' That matched the June 5 release build, and nothing in the documented Update 1 (June 20) or Update 2 (July 4) patch content added any of these forms - Update 2's headline Shinigami addition was the Blooming Madness Shikai, not Bankai.
The current power ceiling per faction: Shinigami top out at Shikai, Quincy at Schrift with Letzt Stil, and Hollows at Arrancar with Resurreccion. There is no code, purchase or trick that grants Bankai - codes only give items like rerolls and boosters.
When is it coming?
There is no official date. Bankai, Vollstandig and Segunda Etapa are widely expected as a future content wave - possibly landing around the same update, since all three are each faction's second release - but the VV Team has announced nothing concrete. New systems are revealed first in the official Discord (discord.gg/vvgame); the game does not use a public Trello. What Bankai will likely look like (speculation)
Labeled speculation, based on the source material and how the game structured Shikai: in Bleach, Bankai is the second and final Zanpakuto release and a massive power multiplier over Shikai. If VV: Ultimatum follows its own pattern - Shikai is unlocked through inner-world meditation at level 25 - Bankai would most plausibly arrive as a Shinigami-only transformation layered on top of a completed Shikai, gated behind an extended questline or a high-level inner-world fight. None of its requirements are confirmed.

YouTube is full of titles like 'New Bankai, Segunda, Voltstanding + Vizard, Shunko Update!' - these are roadmap-speculation and leak-compilation videos, not release coverage, and their thumbnails routinely dress concept footage up as gameplay. The same goes for TikTok 'update tomorrow' leak posts.
At least one wiki-style site currently publishes a step-by-step 'how to get Bankai' guide describing a 'Blade Realm' unlock challenge. We could not verify any of it against dev statements, patch notes or reputable coverage, and the community wiki's standing warning applies: since Bankai is not in the game, any guide claiming exact unlock steps is inventing them. How to prepare now
If you want to be first in line when the wave drops, the sensible prep list from community documentation:
- Finish your Shikai (Shinigami) - Bankai will almost certainly require it
- Push toward the level cap (currently 100) - second releases tend to gate behind level; Ascension 2 already does
- Quincy and Hollow mains: complete Schrift/Letzt Stil or Resurreccion respectively - Vollstandig and Segunda are expected to build on them

Is Bankai in VV: Ultimatum right now?
