MythFall Early Access History - Every Date, Delay & Build

verified · updated 2026-07-09 · MythFall

MythFall reached its July 10, 2026 release through an unusually public development sprint - announced dates slipped, acts shipped late, and the developers explained each move on camera. This page is the full dated record, useful both as history and as context for how the studio operates.

Sourcing: developer statements come from the official GhostInTheCosmos videos (quoted with dates); schedule details the developers never stated on camera are labeled as press-reported; creator observations are labeled as such.

The short version

Development officially started August 1, 2025 - the developer states this in the April 6, 2026 gameplay reveal, noting comparable Roblox RPGs take 2-3 years and that everything (code, models, concepts, systems) was built from scratch. The original plan announced that day: tester applications, then a paid release for stress-testing, then a free release in June for all devices. June became June 26, June 26 became July 3, and July 3 became July 10 - each slip announced by the developers themselves.

  • Jul 4, 2026 - creator coverage notes the game 'was meant to release yesterday' and questions fitting three acts of testing into six days
  • Jul 7, 2026 - 'Release Countdown' video: free early opening for everyone (tutorial + AFK World, mobile included); the main world is now described as four acts per island
  • Jul 10, 2026 - full free release (current official date)

Why the dates moved

The developer gave two on-camera reasons for the final delay (July 3 video): more QA time - 'more time to test, break, and fix things... more testing means fewer bugs on day one' - and mobile, the 'biggest reason of them all': a huge share of the fanbase plays on phones, and launching without them 'just doesn't feel right', so mobile ships day one instead of later. The delay also kept early access open longer, putting more player feedback into the game.

For the earlier act-schedule slips, press coverage paraphrased the stated hold-ups as tutorial fixes, AI improvements, performance optimization, and hoped-for upgrades to UI, VFX and animations - creator commentary around a notice rather than a direct developer statement, so treat that list with appropriate caution.

One structural note: the act nomenclature genuinely shifted mid-development. On June 18 the developer described a three-act main world; on July 7, four acts per island. Creators were visibly confused too - on July 4 one asked whether the tutorial he had already played was Act One. The four-act framing is the current official one.
