Neutral is the baseline element in Anime Expeditions' combat effectiveness system. Unlike Hydro, Flame, Gale, Storm, Terra, Dark and Light, which all deal bonus or reduced damage to specific opposing elements, Neutral has an empty Multipliers table in the client data - it deals consistent, unmodified damage regardless of a target's element.
That makes Neutral units reliable picks against any wave composition, since they never suffer the damage penalty that an elementally mismatched unit would. Seven documented units carry the Neutral element, including the Secret-rarity 8th Sword and its Berserk form.

Effectiveness matrix
Anime Expeditions' nine elements interact as follows, based on the game's client data: Hydro is effective vs Flame and weak vs Terra. Flame is effective vs Terra and weak vs Hydro. Gale is effective vs Hydro and weak vs Flame. Storm is effective vs Flame and weak vs Terra. Terra is effective vs Hydro and weak vs Flame. Dark is effective vs Light with no listed weakness.
