Hydro
Hydro is the water-themed element in Anime Expeditions' combat effectiveness system. Units with the Hydro element deal triple damage when their attacks connect with Flame-elemental targets, making them a strong pick whenever a wave or boss carries elemental Flame resistance rules that favor countering it.
The tradeoff is that Hydro units deal only about a third of their normal damage against Terra-elemental targets, so a Hydro-heavy lineup can struggle on stages built around earth-type enemies. Hydro shares its exact effectiveness profile with Storm - both are strong against Flame and weak against Terra - so the two elements cover the same matchups if you need a backup.

Effectiveness matrix
Anime Expeditions' nine elements interact as follows, based on the game's client data: Hydro is effective vs Flame and weak vs Terra. Flame is effective vs Terra and weak vs Hydro. Gale is effective vs Hydro and weak vs Flame. Storm is effective vs Flame and weak vs Terra (same profile as Hydro). Terra is effective vs Hydro and weak vs Flame (same profile as Gale). Dark is effective vs Light with no listed weakness. Light is effective vs Dark with no listed weakness. Farm and Neutral carry no combat effectiveness bonuses or penalties.
Some enemies and stages can carry elemental resistances, which is when these bonus and penalty multipliers matter most - a Hydro unit hitting a Flame-resistant wave, or a Terra-heavy wave, will see very different damage output.
Featured units
Three documented units carry the Hydro element: Water Princess (Legendary), Ice Queen (Legendary) and Ice Mage (Epic). It is currently the smallest element pool alongside Gale and Terra, so Hydro-element pulls are comparatively rare across the unit roster.
